Petcover were proud to sponsor AQHA-NZ’s (American Quarter Horse Association of New Zealand) 42nd National Show based at the National Equestrian Centre in Taupo. AQHA-NZ is the largest western breeds association in New Zealand, having more than 40 years of international affiliation with the American Quarter Horse Association based in Amarillo, Texas, USA.
Being the leading western sports association in New Zealand, AQHA-NZ’s rules and guidelines are being used by other associations, not just for sports procedures and judging, but also animal welfare.
Attendees travelled from across New Zealand for the most prestigious event on the western show circuit, with competitors working through the season to peak their horses for a chance to achieve a National title from the 148 classes available to compete in.
As a gold sponsor of the National Show, Petcover received the naming rights of six classes. The sponsorship enabled the team to organise the event and supply prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The published results for Petcover’s classes are as follows:
