Petcover wins Finder’s 2023 Pet Insurance Customer Satisfaction Award

Australian pet owners have named Petcover the best-rated pet insurance brand in this year’s Finder Customer Satisfaction Awards.

Petcover came in first place out of 14 Australian brands.

Finder asked 1,300 pet insurance policyholders to rate their pet insurance provider. To be eligible for inclusion in the final results, Finder had to get a minimum of 45 responses for each pet insurer.

Customers were asked to rate their pet insurer out of 5 for features and benefits, customer service, value for money, ease of application, and overall experience. Petcover had high scores across the board and the best individual score for customer service with a 4.4 out of 5.

At the end, Petcover came in first place, securing a combined score of 4.32/5.

Respondents were also asked whether they would recommend the brand to a friend. Around 88% of customers said they would recommend Petcover. The average of all pet insurers surveyed was 85%.

Gary Hunter, Insurance and Innovations Editor at Finder, commented on the achievement, “Looking more closely into the details, it’s easy to see why Petcover won. In addition to over 40 years of experience in the industry, it can cover up to 100% of eligible vet bills. whilst the market average is around 80%.

“Petcover offers three levels of cover for Cats and Dogs to suit various budgets: Superior, Mid-Range and Safety-Net. Its highest option, being the Superior Policy, comes with a death benefit that can pay you up to $2,000 if the worst happens and your cat or dog passes away due to injury or illness before the age of 8 (5 for select breeds). Other insurers typically don’t offer this benefit.

“The Superior Dog policy can also pay you up to $20,000 a year towards eligible vet bills, this includes up to $4,000 for complementary treatments, such as; hydrotherapy, acupuncture or homeopathy. This can include examinations, consultations, advice, tests and prescribed medications for the treatments of Accidents, Injuries and Illnesses.

“It’s also one of the only providers on the market to offer Exotic Pet Insurance plans, covering reptiles, small mammals, turtles and birds – another of the many reasons customers rated it so highly.”
