Dog Lovers Festival brings smiles and wagging tails to Melbourne

The Melbourne Showgrounds were buzzing with energy on 26th and 27th October as pet owners came together for the Dog Lovers Festival. With perfect spring weather, plenty of parking, and easy access by tram and train, it was the ideal weekend outing for animal enthusiasts.

The Petcover team — Vanessa, Natalie, and Samantha — were right in the thick of it, chatting with dog owners (and even curious cat owners wandering in from the cat festival next door) about their beloved pets and pet insurance inquiries. Breeders stopped by too, learning about Petcover’s free breeder program, and the team loved every moment meeting attendees and sharing their passion for pet care.

The festival had something for everyone. Local dog charities brought their adorable ambassadors, spreading smiles with wagging tails and slobbery kisses. Visitors were treated to amazing attractions like the Dock Dogs performance, the Pat-A-Pooch zone, and the Breed Showcase. Families had a blast with kid-friendly zones, face painting, and live shows at the Vitapet Arena, while the Adoption Zone gave animals in need a chance at finding their forever homes. A big crowd favourite was the Working Dogs Down Under performance, where Australia’s hardworking dogs showed off their incredible skills.

As the weekend wrapped up, the Petcover team couldn’t stop smiling. It was a weekend full of great conversations, and wagging tails.
